Massage Music

Massage and appropriate music go together well, always considering the preferences of the client and patient, of course. Peaceful, soothing music helps to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

The combination of music and massage can help induce deeper relaxation and therefore greater healing during a massage session. The right music can take the client to a peaceful and gentle place deep within, which is where the tensions and stresses of everyday life can be released, leaving a sense of renewal and rejuvenation of mind, body and soul.

Musical tastes vary, and a good massage therapist will compile a music playlist very carefully. Many are happy to play your own favorite CD if you bring it with you to your session, so it doesn't hurt to ask!

Softer, quieter instrumental music is usually universally appreciated. Other genres that can work well are classical, easy listening contemporary, and Celtic. The qualities sought after for good massage music are often mellower, happier tracks, as even classical music can sometimes be heavy or brooding, or too powerful for relaxation.

Recommended tempos for massage music are around 50-60 beats per minute if in 2/4 or 4/4 time. If you are using 3/4 or 6/8 time, tempos around 100-120 beats per minute are good.

"I heard your music while I was getting a massage....I found the music incredibly healing." - Tamra Peters, Virginia

"I have massage...and my first session, over a month ago, I loved the music so much that I have been searching for your web site. My session this past week the therapist made a copy of the CD jacket (Fragrances of a Dream). It is the most relaxing and beautiful sound I have ever experienced, you are a master. I will certainly tell others and will probably give as Christmas gifts.” - Michelle Lollar
